Kevin Chan


Professor Kevin Chan has been a martial art practitioner since childhood and founder of the Kamon Martial Art Federation in 1992, which has successful academies all over the UK.
A practitioner in constant search of knowledge, after over 10 years of training BJJ, Kevin became one of the four only black belts in the world given by the legendary Mauricio Gomes a senior member of the Gracie Barra (founder Gracie barra UK), father of multiple BJJ and ADCC world champion Roger Gracie.
In his black belt award speech to Kevin, Professor Mauricio Gomes quotes:
“I would like to award a black belt to someone who has been with us for ages always training, competing, dedicating himself and as a martial artist I have seen very few in my time.”

As an active member of Gracie Barra UK Kevin has competed in many BJJ competitions.
Amongst his achievements are:
- Seni Gracie Invitation superfight competitor
- Rio Masters Invitation silver medalist 2005
- Pan American bronze medalist 2003
- KSBO gold medalist 2003
- KSBO gold medalist 2002
- European Luta Livre Submission wrestling tournament, gold in lightweight & absolute in 2001
- Brazilian European championship, gold in lightweight & absolute in 2001
- European open championship, gold in lightweight & absolute in 2001

Master Leao Teixeira, Kevin Chan & Felipe Souza
Master Leao Teixeira is a 5th degree black belt. He started his training with the legendary Rolls Gracie and received his black belt from Carlos Gracie Jr in 1986. During his teaching career he played a major role on the development of many athletes such as: Felipe Souza, Hélio Moreira (soneca), Ralph Gracie, Marcio Feitosa, Rafael Correia “Gordinho”, Flávio Almeida “Cachorrinho”, Rolles Gracie Jr., Igor Gracie e Marco Joca “Piu-Piu, to name a few.
